The Historic Houses Association (HHA) represents 1600 privately and charitably owned historic houses, castles and gardens. These are listed buildings or designated gardens, usually Grade I or II, and are often outstanding. Many are considered to be iconic symbols of Britain’s unique heritage.
National Garden Scheme
Founded in 1927, the National Garden Scheme (NGS) publishes The Yellow Book, an annual listing of over 3800 beautiful gardens open to the public for their specific beneficiaries each year. NGS helps raise money for charity through opening gardens of quality, character and beauty to the public.
North Notts BID
George Buchanan from Hodsock is on the Board of North Notts BID – the UK’s first ever, area-wide Place Shaping business improvement district (BID) – a national trailblazer, covering towns, industrial and rural areas within the Bassetlaw district. The BID will attract funds of £3.2m over its five year term, which will be spent on projects and improvements through our three key themes – The Business Voice, The Destination and The Experience.
Visit Nottinghamshire is the official Destination Management Organisation for Nottinghamshire. Funded by the public and private sector, the organisation actively promotes tourism and local businesses in the visitor economy.
Royal Horticultural Society
The Royal Horticultural Society is a UK charity established to share the best in gardening. Their work – from world-class flower shows and grassroots schools campaign to ground-breaking green-roof research and community outreach programmes – is driven by their simple love of plants and the belief that gardeners make the world a better place.
