The Snowdrop season traditionally runs throughout February and early March. We open daily from 10am, seven days a week come rain or shine.

The Snowdrop winter garden is nestled in the 800 acre Hodsock estate. Along with more than 100 acres of woodland, the Snowdrops cover around 5 acres of the estate including natural collections, established displays and lawns packed with the tiny white flowers.

Facilities

There’s a well signed, cordoned walk around the gardens with short cuts for those who are less mobile and walk extensions for those wanting to roam the woodland. Refreshments and toilets are on site.

Child and disabled friendly

Children are always welcome at Hodsock although we do ask for them to be supervised at all times. Toddlers can enjoy a run round the North Lawn or a rummage in the woodland, whilst older children can try to crack the code and locate Hodsock's Hidden Treasure with a self guided trail around the grounds.

There is open water on the estate so extra care should be taken with toddlers and infants.

We identify preferred routes for less able visitors and the footpaths immediately round the house and formal gardens can be accessed by wheelchair. Other routes are across grassland and woodland and can get very muddy which can be difficult for wheelchairs, motorised vehicles and pushchairs.

Parking

Limited hard surface parking is allocated for disabled visitors and coaches, the main carpark is the right hand field of the estate. Parking wardens will welcome you to the site and direct you to the next available space. Parking is included in the entry price to the house and gardens.
