The newly refurbished Pavilion is a refined dining and entertainment room and is the main room for your wedding reception.
The intricate plasterwork is adorned with natural light that floods through the Georgian windows. Looking out over the Italian Terrace there are breathtaking views of the Hodsock gardens.
We’ve created a sophisticated blank canvas that can be tailored, dressed and themed. Sitting in a traditional cabaret style, 120 wedding breakfast guests can celebrate your special day with you. In the evening, the Pavilion is transformed for your wedding reception and you can extend your invitations up to 250.
The Library and Ante Room
For smaller wedding parties, the Ante Room and Library are fantastic secluded rooms with homely comforts.
They are ideal for dining and entertaining and strings or vocals work really well in these rooms too.
Lose yourself in the old book room. This romantic space is perfect for catching up with friends following the ceremony. It also lends itself to becoming a performance space for soft music and entertainment.
The library is full of character and looks out over our famous snowdrop gardens.
Both the Library and Ante Room are licensed for weddings.
The contemporary and elegant bar is a grand reception area for guests.
The dark floor and marble bar are complemented by a selection of modern furniture to create a stylish space.
Guests can enjoy drinks and canapés before the Wedding Breakfast in The Pavilion.
Our House DJs from XClusive Disco are guaranteed to get your party started. They’re a friendly duo who take the time to get to know each couple and their likes and dislikes. Holding over 11,000 tracks from the 1950’s onwards, they’re keen to work with you on your ultimate wedding playlist.
Alternatively, rock, jazz and pop can be played live in the Pavilion.
There’s plenty of room for your band and audio equipment and the rest is left for guests to boogie the night away. Complement this with selected canapés, buffet or why not try a BBQ and a well stocked bar keeps the drinks flowing. A great finale to your special day.
Throughout the majority of the year, your outdoor wedding photos will have blooms as a stunning backdrop. From vivid spring and summer flowers to the more subdued shade of Autumn and the spectacle of snowdrops and cyclamen in winter, you’ll not be disappointed.
The gardens are lovingly maintained under the careful custodianship of Lady Buchanan and her dedicated team. You’ll see a unique collection of stone statues, including the cheeky squirrel and owl who will be facing you when you arrive through the Gatehouse.
The ornamental Italian Terrace overlooking The Fan Lawn backs on to the Pavilion and can be accessed through the french doors for guests to enjoy their welcome drinks and post-ceremony mingling.
The North Lawn
The North Lawn sits directly at the front of the house and is accessed by the main gravel path. This spot makes a great location for your arrival photos and group photos with your bridal party.
The Fan Lawn
Called, the fan due to its shape and structure, this is one of the largest open lawns on the estate. With the Terrace and House raised in the background, it’s another picture perfect spot.
The Stone Banks
This area has a cottage garden feel with lots of rockery and seasonal blooms. There are pretty bridges and quiet clearings, for more intimate shots of the bride and groom.
