Must-Have Wedding Photographs at Hodsock Priory

Today on the Hodsock Priory blog we’re talking all things wedding photography – something you should never underestimate the importance of. When you’ve chosen your perfect professional and you meet with them to discuss your big day, many of them will ask if there are any key shots that you’d like them to capture on camera. This may be something you actually hadn’t considered, but it’s the best way to ensure the best images and be prepared. So, to help you along the way we’ve put together a quick guide on the must-have wedding photographs at Hodsock Priory for your celebration…

Getting Ready

The morning of the wedding really is such a special time and it’s a chance for your photographer to capture an array of emotions. From those pre-wedding jitters, the excitement and anticipation, and even the happy tears! Ask your photographer to be available throughout the whole morning so you know you’ve got some lovely snaps of you and your wedding party getting ready. A lot of couples love the idea of having a second photographer to capture their partner’s perspective of the morning of the wedding too! Definitely among the must-have wedding photographs.

Breaking Tradition – The First Look

If you’re bidding farewell to tradition and you’ve decided to have a first look, make sure your photographer is there with their camera in their hand! More and more couples are opting to spend five minutes together ahead of the ceremony, and we just love the romance and emotion of a first look. Plus, there will be nothing better than seeing your partner’s reaction when they see you in your outfit for the first time.

Confetti Moment

The confetti shot is always one of our favourites – it’s probably the happiest photograph of them all! Your guests are involved, it’s full of colour and your faces say it all. Make sure your photographer ticks this off their list!

The Ceremony

It’s a no-brainer really, but there are some key elements of your ceremony that we think are must-have wedding photographs here at Hodsock Priory. Whether your photographer snaps your excited glance at your loved ones as you walk down the aisle, or your partner’s nervous face as they await you at the end of the aisle.

The Details

You’ve spent hours, days and even weeks agonising over various Pinterest boards to ensure your wedding day is the epitome of perfection, so ask your photographer to capture each and every detail especially if there’s something really personal. From the bridal bouquet to the cake, the stationery suite to the place settings, amongst the chaos of the wedding day it can be easy to forget how much time and effort you put into each element. It will also be lovely having these images to look back on. Put this on your list of must-have wedding photographs!

Group Photographs

When it comes to your group photos, make sure you know who you want in the pictures ahead of the big day. Trying to get everyone together for a photograph can be a mammoth task, so it will be easier if you know who you’re looking for.

The Venue – Hodsock Priory

Your venue is the backdrop to your big day and it’s the setting for the start of your happily ever after. Here at Hodsock we have so many beautiful spaces, corners and little nooks that are ready to be captured on camera, so that the memories can be cherished long after the sun goes down. If you’re lucky enough to get married here in the winter, you might even get some shots of our famous snow drops!
