Embrace rich colours
A winter wedding gives you the perfect chance to celebrate with a rich colour scheme. Bring the drama with dark shades of plum, or channel a luxurious feel with metallic shades – what better excuse to splash out on those gold glitter Jimmy Choos, hey?
At Hodsock Priory we love the classic feel of red for a winter wedding. Simple touches like red roses in your bouquet, berry details on your table settings or deep red chair backs, create a gorgeously seasonal feel.
Throwing your winter wedding reception in Hodsock Priory’s Pavilion gives you the chicest of canvases to put your stamp on things. With capacity for 130 for dining (then 240 for your evening party), there are so many ways you can wow your guests. Whether you have a clear vision (and multiple Pinterest boards) of how you want to style your day, or you’re really not sure, our wedding team can work with you to bring something fabulous to life. Your table settings are a great opportunity to pull your wedding theme or style together. From contemporary winter whites to more traditional berry shades, Hodsock Priory has helped create some incredible tablescapes.
Oh, Christmas tree
If you want to embrace the season in all its Christmassy glory, Hodsock Priory is the place to do it. Our historic interiors are dressed with the most stylish of Christmas trees and festive touches, which will make the perfect backdrop to your wedding photos.
Hodsock’s Buchanan Hall, with space for up to 100 guests, is an elegant space for your wedding ceremony. For winter vows, just add twinkling candlelight and an oversized wreath for the end of the aisle, to add some Christmas magic.
Celebrate the setting
Did you know Hodsock Priory is exclusive yours for the whole day? That means you and your guests are free to explore all the sumptuous surroundings and cosy corners we have to offer. From drinking signature couple cocktails in our glamorous House Bar to catching up with old friends in the atmospheric Panelled Hall, there’s plenty of space to make yourself at home.
And, of course, no winter wedding would be complete without a roaring log fire. The sight, sound and smell of a real log fire feels instantly welcoming, so we’ll make sure our fires are lit and kept going all day for you and your guests.

Our talented chefs can devise the most incredible, mouth-watering wedding menu, packed full of the best seasonal produce and ingredients. If you’ve got a dream winter menu in mind, we’d love to chat.
