The hottest wedding day trends for 2023
2022 has been the year that weddings have been firmly put back on the agenda – and at Hodsock Priory we couldn’t be happier about it. We’ve loved seeing happy couples say their ‘I do’s at our stunning county house wedding venue in Nottinghamshire this year and we’re already gearing up for another incredible 12 months of inspiring, stylish and creative weddings. If you’ve just got engaged (congratulations!) or are well into planning your big day and you’re after some inspiration, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s the Hodsock Priory team’s predictions for the hottest wedding day trends for 2023.
An eco big day
Weddings in 2023 are all about merging sustainability with style. More and more brides and grooms are searching for a venue and wedding day suppliers with great eco credentials. Sustainability is so important to us at Hodsock Priory. We have a dedicated tree planting scheme, we work hard to reduce our carbon footprint by using food suppliers within a 50-mile radius where possible and our gardens are designed to encourage and protect local wildlife. As well as eco venues, we think 2023 is going to be the year we see a move towards renting wedding day and bridesmaid dresses. Saving money and the environment? We’re in!

Textured cakes
When it comes to all things edible, one of the hottest wedding day trends for 2023 is undoubtably textured cakes. Whether it’s elegant filigree detailing or a more ‘undone’ feel, texture is the way to go for a stand-out wedding cake design.

Pearls
Pearls are having a renaissance for weddings. Gone are the fussy and dated connotations, instead pearls are the cool bride’s go-to for embellishment and accessories. In 2023 we are going to see lots of pearl-studded veils, statement headbands and detailing on bridal gowns.

Something blue
We predict that making your ‘something blue’ the star of the show is going to be one of the hottest wedding day trends for 2023. From dressing your bridesmaids in blue, to blue suits for grooms and blue-hued wedding cakes, get creative and work blue into your day however you like.

Last dance
At Hodsock Priory we’ve seen more and more couples choose to go all-out for their last dance at their wedding – and we think 2023 is the year when this trend will really take off. Cool, choreographed routines; massive group singalongs; confetti guns – anything goes when it comes to throwing the ultimate send off for your guests.

Embroidered dresses
Fashion-forward brides are all about the embroidered wedding dress for 2023. It’s a trend you can embrace whatever your big day style. From subtle floral detailing to colourful, bold designs, we think this is a fashion trend perfectly suited to the elegant setting of Hodsock Priory. Mark our words, wedding dress embroidery is going to be everywhere next year.

Dramatic tablescapes
More is more when it comes to your big day table settings. Elaborate tablescapes, packed with flowers, candles, linen, vintage glassware and cutlery will lead the way at 2023 weddings. Whatever your big day vibe, at Hodsock Priory we can work with you to make your dream set-up a reality.

Cocktail hour
Now this is one of the hottest wedding day trends for 2023 that we can really get behind at Hodsock Priory! Giving the traditional drinks reception a contemporary twist, cocktail hour is already a staple of many weddings in the US and has made its way over the pond to become a firm favourite with savvy brides and grooms right here. Our team will relish the chance to create bespoke couple cocktails to wow your guests. Make ours a spicy margarita…
