Church Ceremonies
The Grade I listed Church of St Mary & St Martin in Blyth is just two miles from Hodsock Priory.
Steeped in history, this ancient building is a magical setting for church ceremonies. A short drive through the countryside and the Hodsock Team will be on hand with celebratory fizz and canapés for your arrival after the wedding.

The Church of St Mary & St Martin
The Church of St. Mary and St. Martin in Blyth dates from the late 1100s and is one of the oldest examples of Norman architecture in the country.
Founded by Roger de Builli of Tickhill Castle, one of William the Conqueror’s followers, it was part of a Benedictine monastery founded in 1088.
By 1476, the church was extended to allow the parish and Priory to worship separately within the same church. A second bell tower was built for the parish at the west end, as well as a new dividing east wall, decorated with ‘doom’ images of judgement day. Another notable feature of this magnificent church includes the pipe organ, which was built around 1885 and restored in 1960 by Henry Groves & Son in Nottingham.
The church continues to be open to the local community, hosting church ceremonies including regular Sunday services, as well as weddings and christenings.
